2017 is the final nail in Carmelo Anthony’s coffin

Almost two months into the 2017-18 NBA Season let me ask you two questions. Who is the most surprising team thus far? Who is the most disappointing team thus far? The answer to Number 1, The New York Knicks, The Answer to Number 2, The Oklahoma City Thunder. What links these two teams? that is right Carmelo Anthony.

Without Anthony, the Knicks led by Kristaps Porzingis after years of being the laughing stalk of the NBA under Phil Jackson’s leadership. Now that Porzingis is the without a doubt the leader of the pack he has the Knicks at 11-10, with a less than glorious surrounding cast, right on the outside looking in of the playoff line. Meanwhile, the Knicks traded Anthony to the Thunder on September 23rd, and for the first time in his career, Anthony is surrounded by two fellow Superstars in reigning MVP Russell Westbrook and Paul Geroge who the Thunder acquired from the Indiana Pacers in July. The Thunder are also just outside the playoff line at 8-12 with all that talent.

So the trend with teams that Carmelo Anthony are on continues, there is no longer any doubt about what Anthony is he is nothing short of a loser, and despite all the evidence we had of that prior to this year this is the biggest indictment of his career. He has all the talent in the world and is playing with two more All-Stars and Anthony’s team is still losing. A leopard never changes his spots.
